I used an old aquarium, window planter box, and aquarium water pump to make an aquaponic growing system. i installed a bell siphon into the planter box to control the water flow.. Are you a fish person who knows the hobby really well but is interested in incorporating an aquaponics system to it? this is exactly what i did to control ni.... As mentioned earlier, the home aquaponics system setup requires a tank and a grow bed. the tank can be a stock tank, a large barrel, or a glass fish tank. the other alternative is getting a p ond liner..
For my experimental ten gallon aquaponic setup, i've chosen to go for a drip system. from the aquarium, water is pumped through a delivery tube where the water is allowed to drip at the base of each plant..
